Biography

Born and raised in the mountains of Colorado, Stephanie is a musician, educator, writer, anthropologist, and outdoors enthusiast. She holds both a B.A. in Music and a B.A. in Anthropology from the University of Colorado Boulder, as well as an M.A. in Arts Administration from Florida State University.

During her education, she has studied choral conducting, vocal performance, violin performance, ethnomusicology, composing, arranging, archaeology, writing, and editing. She has also conducted acoustic research in kivas at Mesa Verde's Spruce Tree House site, administered chamber music in Alaska, and developed a Waldorf-integrated strings program for 3rd and 4th Grade.

Stephanie currently works at the Center for the Arts in Crested Butte, CO, where she is incubating and developing various programs in education, community engagement, creative industry, and classical music. On a regional level, she is the Executive Director of the Valley Symphony Association, a 53-year-old symphony and symphony chorus serving 13 distinct communities on the Western Slope of Colorado. She also maintains a small studio private lessons, teaches orchestra and string methods at Western Colorado University, and directs North Fork Community Choir, a 50+ member community chorus performing a variety of octavos and masterworks in Paonia, CO.
